Dementia is “one of the greatest challenges of our time”, a “quiet crisis” and a “terrible disease” that “steals live and tears at the hearts of families”

David Cameron

In partnership with South London and Maudsley NHS Foundation Trust, The Institute of Psychiatry and King College London, Onclick are developing ‘The Dementia Training Centre’: a National training site for health professionals, building awareness and improving safe and effective treatment for people with dementia, both in the community and in care. The first e-learning programme to be launched on the site later this year focuses on the management of behavioural and psychological symptoms of dementia (BPSD). With accreditation from the Royal College of Psychiatrists, this e-learning package will be suitable for General Practitioners and other registered professional groups who treat and support people with dementia. Whilst outlining the process of diagnosis and management of dementia, the course will focus on the value of person centred care and consider the different roles in both pharmacological and non-pharmacological interventions. Onclick are very excited to be involved in such a prestigious project that will undoubtedly be a vital resource in improving the care of dementia internationally.
